What are Subdomains
Domain name is a name which identifies IP addresses on the internet.A subdomain is a second level of domain. Let me explain this with an example.
A regular domain name looks like www.Whatiswebhost.com
A subdomain will look like www. xxxx/Whatiswebhost.com where x represents words or numbers or a combination of both. A subdomain does not has www on the front of them. Subdomains start with http://subdomain/maindomain.com as the pattern of identification.
Many businesses do not like to use subdomain as they feel that a subdomain has many disadvantages. It is a misconception that subdomains do not rank as well as regular domains. Subdomains rank effectively well. If you want to submit your subdomain to a search engine, you could each subdomain as it’s own individual catagory. The search engine will look at each subdomain as a new site with it’s own index or home page. You can create folders for the subdomain so that the search engine can read the folder as one set of site information.
