The Right Amount of Bandwidth
There are many companies which provide various bandwidth option in the variety of plans which they offer. But what exactly is bandwidth?
Bandwidth simply is the amount of traffic that is allowed between your web site and the rest of internet. When you visit a website each time, you are creating traffic since in order to view the webpage on your computer, the web page is first downloaded to your computer and is than made visible to you by your web browser software such as internet explorer, firefox etc.
Various web hosting companies have different bandwidth options available so you need to estimate the amount of bandwidth which your website needs in order to get the suitable plan for your website. In order to determine how much bandwidth you are using , first determine how many users access your website?How many pages to be access? How big are HTML files and graphics? If your website is offering video games, file downloads, audio files etc. than you would need more bandwidth.
Before signing up a web hosting company , be careful if they claim to offer “unlimited bandwidth” beacuse there is no such thing as unlimited bandwidth. The reason for that is how could a web hosting company which doesn’t even has it’s own access lines claim to offer unlimited bandwidth to their customers. And if you opt for them read about their acceptable use policy or terms of service for the unlimited bandwidth which they are offering.
