How to Identify Your Business with Your Domain Name

The domain name which you choose for your website can have an effect on the online and off line marketing of your website. So use common sense when deciding for a name and remember that a shorter domain name is easier to remember than a long one. If you choose a domain name which is long and difficult to spell, people may ignore your website due to the reason that they simply cannot remember it.

If you have online business wesite, you may even be able to use the same name provided it’s available . If it’s not than go with a similar name which reflects your online business. If you plan on using the .net extension, you may want to wait for the business name till you have found a suitable domain name for your online business. But that can happen only if you are planning to go in the business now and not already are.

* You can put your domain name on business cards, letter heads, any type of printed materials etc. Don’t forget to include your e-mail address with it.

* Get a short domain name and not a long one.

* It is usually recommended that you get a domain name which ends inĀ  .com and not .net,.info, .biz or anything else. If you cannot find a domain name which ends in .com, keep looking until you find one which does. That doesn’t means that there is anything wrong with the other extensions, it’s just that .com’s are more popular and it seems that the website has been on the internet for a long time.
